General Assembly 2015

JJIF is ready for a dynamic future with new structures!
The JJIF convention was completed by the JJIF general assembly approving the results of the discussions and establish a new structure. The fundament of the global body for Ju-Jitsu, the statues, had been revised and adapted to the dynamic growth of JJIF. Now 108 countries are represented by JJIF and run Ju-Jitsu in their countries. This is completed by a strong relation with the "Abu Dhabi- Pro Jiu-Jitsu".
It was a week of long discussions, controversial opinions and formal work with the common objective to prepare the JJIF for the next step of development.
With positive engagement of all delegates the 2015 edition of the JJIF voted for new statues giving the leadership of JJIF the guidelines and tools to work effective and democratic.
In the future the board will consist of 9 elected members with voting rights.
Sports Director and General Manager are additional members to advise.
The operation core, the executive board will consist of President, General Secretary, Treasurer, Sports Director and General Manager.
The continents are represented by their presidents being Vice presidents in JJIF plus quotas for a global presence in the board and the affiliated commissions and committees.
The status of membership had been changed, giving the national members the full membership rights faster but allowing the JJIF to terminate the membership of inactive national members as well.
General Secretary Dana Mortelmans conducted the meeting professional and President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos was very happy that so many delegates supported the process with their professional knowledge.
The delegates support and ratified the work and decisions of the different panels in the convention, showing trust and confidence in the work of the expert groups.
Unanimously the Assembly accepted Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Turkmenistan and FYROM as new members in JJIF. so 108 countries execute Ju-Jitsu under the guidelines of JJIF now.

Alliance of Independent Members of SportAccord

New AIMS Board - 12 August 2015. JJIF President, Mr. Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, elected Vice-president
AIMS - Alliance of Independent Members of SportAccord
The mission of AIMS is to support and promote the work of its Members as the specific world governing bodies of their sports with National, Continental and World Sports Authorities.
IFMA hosted the AIMS conference in Bangkok from 10th to 13th of August with representatives from the IOC, IWGA, FISU, TAFISA, all recognised IOC groups, the representatives from 23 AIMS recognised sports , IEC in sports, the World Games Channel and many others in attendance. Her Excellency Mrs Wattanavrangkul the Minister of Tourism and Sports opened the beautiful evening with a heart-warming speech on behalf of the Royal Thai Government welcoming all sport dignitaries in true Thainess.
Thailand is a sporting country and the government is in full support of sporting development. Her Excellency graciously thanked AIMS for choosing Thailand and Bangkok as the host city for the conference and thanked all the delegates for their presence. Mrs Wattanavrangkul shook hands with every delegate handing out a hand signed Souvenir book. All representatives from IOC, IWGA, FISU, TAFISA and UN Women, made welcome speeches and AIMS President Stephan Fox presented the plaque of appreciation to all delegates.
The 23 AIMS federations met in Bangkok to restructure AIMS to establish itself as a larger stakeholder in the world of sports. AIMS is made up of 23 members of SportAccord and new constitutional changes have been made for its even greater independence in the world of sport. The constitution has been changed in close cooperation with the 3 IOC recognised sporting groups, ASOIF, AIOWF, ARISF; and also membership criteria into AIMS have been tightened with the input of the IOC sporting federation.
AIMS President Stephan fox stated that the meeting was highly successful and the fact that so many sports with highest representation came to Bangkok is a testament of the cooperation and unity of the AIMS family.
