En un paso histórico para el ju-jitsu, la Federación Internacional de Ju-Jitsu (JJIF) y la Federación Mundial de Para Jiu-Jitsu (WPJJF) han firmado un Memorando de Entendimiento (MoU) con el objetivo de impulsar el desarrollo y la promoción de este deporte en todas sus modalidades, incluyendo el para jiu-jitsu (PJJ) y la autodefensa inclusiva (ISD). La alianza refuerza la apuesta por la inclusión, la diversidad y la integración de atletas con discapacidad en las competiciones oficiales.
El acuerdo, firmado por el presidente de la JJIF, Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, y el presidente de la WPJJF, Elcirley Luz Silva, busca garantizar la igualdad de oportunidades dentro del ju-jitsu. Para ello, ambas organizaciones organizarán seminarios y sesiones de entrenamiento conjuntas con el fin de mejorar los estándares técnicos y abordar cuestiones como el acoso y la discriminación en el deporte.
MÁS VISIBILIDAD PARA EL PARA JIU-JITSU
Uno de los aspectos clave de esta colaboración será el apoyo técnico mutuo. La WPJJF brindará asistencia a la JJIF en la organización de eventos de para jiu-jitsu, mientras que la JJIF orientará a la WPJJF en la aplicación de normativas internacionales, incluidos los protocolos antidopaje.
El MoU también establece el compromiso de ambas federaciones para integrar el para jiu-jitsu y la autodefensa inclusiva en sus calendarios de competiciones oficiales. Esta medida permitirá dar mayor visibilidad a los atletas con discapacidad y ofrecerles más oportunidades dentro del circuito competitivo.
LA FIRMA DE JJIF CON JU-SPORT
En continua evolución, otro ejemplo de fortalecimiento del Ju-Jitsu es el acuerdo que la JJIF ha firmado con un patrocinio estratégico de cinco años con la marca alemana de equipamiento deportivo Ju-Sports. El contrato, que ha entrado en vigor en 2025, refuerza la asociación entre ambas entidades y marca el inicio de una nueva estrategia en la estandarización del equipamiento de competición.
Ju-Sports, proveedor oficial de la JJIF desde hace años, continuará suministrando material de alta calidad para las competiciones oficiales. A partir de 2025, la federación implementará el sello “aprobado por JJIF” en el equipamiento, estableciéndolo como el estándar obligatorio en todas las disciplinas de ju-jitsu.
Durante el periodo 2025-2028, la JJIF trabajará para facilitar la transición hacia el equipamiento homologado a nivel mundial, animando a atletas y organizaciones a adoptar los productos oficiales de la federación.
PROFESIONALIZACIÓN Y SEGURIDAD
El acuerdo con Ju-Sports refleja el compromiso de la JJIF por elevar el nivel de profesionalización del ju-jitsu y garantizar los más altos estándares en seguridad y rendimiento. Con esta iniciativa, la federación busca ofrecer condiciones uniformes y óptimas en todas las competiciones, beneficiando tanto a deportistas como a organizadores de eventos.

An a historic step for ju-jitsu, the International Ju-Jitsu Federation (JJIF) and the World Para Jiu-Jitsu Federation (WPJJF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of boosting the development and promotion of the sport in all its forms, including para jiu-jitsu (PJJ) and inclusive self-defense (ISD). The alliance reinforces the commitment to inclusion, diversity and integration of athletes with disabilities in official competitions.
The agreement, signed by the president of the JJIF, Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, and the president of the WPJJJF, Elcirley Luz Silva, seeks to ensure equal opportunities within ju-jitsu. To this end, both organizations will organize joint seminars and training sessions to improve technical standards and address issues such as harassment and discrimination in the sport.
MORE VISIBILITY FOR PARA JIU-JITSU
One of the key aspects of this collaboration will be mutual technical support. The WPJJF will provide assistance to the JJIF in the organization of para jiu-jitsu events, while the JJIF will guide the WPJJF in the implementation of international regulations, including anti-doping protocols.
The MoU also establishes the commitment of both federations to integrate para jiu-jitsu and inclusive self-defense into their official competition calendars. This measure will give greater visibility to athletes with disabilities and offer them more opportunities within the competitive circuit.
JJIF’S SIGNATURE WITH JU-SPORT
In continuous evolution, another example of strengthening Ju-Jitsu is the agreement that the JJIF has signed with a five-year strategic sponsorship with the German sports equipment brand Ju-Sports. The contract, which has come into effect in 2025, strengthens the partnership between the two entities and marks the beginning of a new strategy in the standardization of competition equipment.
Ju-Sports, an official supplier of the JJIF for many years, will continue to supply high-quality equipment for official competitions. From 2025, the federation will implement the “JJIF approved” stamp on equipment, establishing it as the mandatory standard in all ju-jitsu disciplines.
During the period 2025-2028, JJIF will work to facilitate the transition to globally approved equipment, encouraging athletes and organizations to adopt the federation’s official products.
PROFESSIONALIZATION AND SAFETY
The agreement with Ju-Sports reflects the JJIF’s commitment to raising the level of professionalization of ju-jitsu and ensuring the highest standards in safety and performance. With this initiative, the federation seeks to offer uniform and optimal conditions in all competitions, benefiting both athletes and event organizers.
