Constructive board meeting in 

JJIF headquarters

A very strong board meeting was held in Abu Dhabi on 30. January. All continental Unions had been represented by their Presidents. Unexceptional all decisions had been taken unanimously. JJIF stays capable of acting and developing strong worldwide.

To proceed the work of JJIF and act in the best way according to the statutes the JJIF the board met in the headquarters of Ju-Jitsu International Federation Ju-Jitsu Asian Union. Since many years it was the first time really all continents had been represented and their president.
Working now according to the statutes approved 25th July 2015 in the JJIF convention in Greece.
To guarantee a good governance and harmonic work all board members, according to the old and the new statues had been invited and took the long journey into Middle East and so the participation was the highest ever in a JJIF board meeting.

Unanimously the JJIF Vice presidents decided to hand over the power to the legal board according to the actual statutes and assured their future engagement for Ju-Jitsu and support.
The most important decisions:
As Luc Mortelmans resigned as treasurer of JJIF (as spouses are not allowed in the board any more) the board accepted the resignation and decided that Tomo Borissov shall become acting treasurer and handle the financial matters of JJIF until the next elections.
Abdelmunem Al Hashmi was appointed as Senior Vice president substituting the president in case of absence.
As approved in the extraordinary GA in Bangkok the management of JJIF shall be professionalized. So the duties to organize JJIF headquarter in Abu Dhabi under the joint administrative control of Fahad Al Shamsi, Eugene Domagata, Dr. Jaffer al Muthafer, Joachim Thumfart. They shall work under the supervision of President Panagiotis Theororopoulos.
The former and newly constituted JJIF Boards sanctioned the temporary withdrawal  of the authority and duties of  the incumbent General Secretary,  Mrs. Dana Mortelmans, having regard to several allegations, including lack of transparency, dereliction of duty  and unethical code of conduct, vested interests  and exceeding her authority without the requisite approval of the  President or the JJIF Board.
A Technical commission shall be installed coordinating the activities of committees for the disciplines. The sport and referee directors of the continents shall be part of this commission.
Alex Paz (Asian referee director) was appointed officially as the leading expert for refereeing the disciple of Ne-Waza in JJIF.
The proposal to organize the Convention in connection with the Asian Beach Games in September was welcomed. JJAU and OCA will check the possibilities as soon as possible to conduct the event in September in Da Nang.
Panagiotis Theororopoulos presented the idea of adopting the structure according to the IOC charter and structure. The idea to work more with the regions and establish a Ju-Jitsu representative committee.
The cooperation of Pro-Jiu-Jitsu and JJIF was manifested in a memorandum. So professional Jiu-Jitsu and JJIF Ju-Jitsu are independent branches but cooperate.
